2011 Lone Star Trail of Heroes

Sunday, May 29, 2011, at 11am, we particiapted in a special service at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church. We provided photos of all Iraq and Afghanistan fallen heroes from the Central Texas area for this service. These were shown during the singing of a special hymn by Mela SaraJane Dailey. Gold Star families from all conflicts who are in attendance were also honored.

On Monday, May 30, 2011, on the Lady Bird Lake Trail under the MoPac bridge (on the end that is next to Veterans Drive, over 2,000 people stopped by to pay their respects at our memorial to 540 Texas fallen soldiers and the Ft. Hood 13, represented by individual flags and memory photo cards.

Each flag was personalized with a memory card that includes the photo of the hero and some biographical information. The cards were prepared by students at Bowie High School and Leander I.S.D.
